Laminin, a protein found in the basement membrane of cells, has over 12 isoforms. Nippi manufactures recombinant human laminin protein fragments. In the field of regenerative medicine, these fragments are widely used both domestically and
internationally as a highly efficient substrate for pluripotent stem cell culture. Sales are handled by one of
affiliated companies, Matrixome, Inc.. The company was established as part of a public-private innovation program
with Osaka University, in line with policies to promote regenerative medicine technologies.

iMatrix series

The iMatrix series is made by highly purifying the E8 region of recombinant human laminin protein and
can be used as a substrate for culturing stem cells, including ES/iPS cells, and various other cells.
By using "iMatrix-511," ES/iPS cells can be cultured and passaged even when seeded from colonies that have
been dissociated into single cells through feeder-free culture methods. This enables easy and efficient
maintenance and proliferation of cells.
The paper on the "Laminin-511 E8 fragment" (Nakagawa et al., Scientific Reports 4, Article number: 3594
(2014)) has been widely cited by researchers, and excellent results are continuously being reported toward
the realization of regenerative medicine. The list of cited papers and the link to Google Scholar are
available here.
In addition to "Laminin-511," we also handle E8 proteins 411, 332, 221, and 111. Furthermore,
"iMatrix-Palette" was launched for sale in August 2023.
