The origin of Nippi peptides began with photographic film stabilizers
In 1932, Nippi expanded its manufacturing of leather products to include gelatin products. Utilizing collagen, a
by-product of leather manufacturing, our R&D succeeded in producing fine gelatin products, and the products created
a new market, the domestic photographic film stabilizers, which contributed to the photographic film industry in
Japan. In 1975, our R&D introduced collagen peptides, a revolutionary invention, to the world and have continued
developing new product lines. Today Nippi’s R&D is pursuing further studies for future applications of collagen.
